I already had a great squirrel proof baffel on my feeder.

I bought the Absolute II because it said the perches were adjustable for different weight birds. My goal was to keep the flocks of grackels from cleaning out my feeder in one day. If the heavier birds land ON THE PERCH it works. Problem is they can land sideways on the feeding platform avoiding the perch altoghether and eat to their hearts content! Very dissapointed

Prone to rust

The beautiful copper finish lasted for a very short period of time. It was soon replaced by massive rust. It is difficult to clean and it also drips very easily. I would definitely not suggest this item.

Again, copper plating prone to rust.

This bird feeder really does what it says and the squirrels have given up trying to get into the feeder. It’s sturdy and easy to use. Love this product.

This is by far the best bird feeder i have ever received. Chickadees,goldfinhes, and house finches are some of the birds you can lure with this amazing feeder. There are two suction cups which seem to be glued to the window,(they do come of the window,) and an over hanging roof so that none of the bird seed is wasted. Birds came within minutes. Thank you amazon.

Finish doesn’t hold up

This is a very attractive feeder and all the birds love it. It holds a good amount of seed. I haven’t had squirrel problems with it, but mine is hanging on a shepherd’s hook which our squirrels have trouble climbing. But then, we don’t have grey squirrels — we have the larger fox squirrels which are not as acrobatic. I take the feeder in at night to keep the raccoons away — they are a bigger problem here. I haven’t experienced any problems with broken parts on mine, like some reviewers have. However, my biggest gripe is that the finish on this is very poor. I’ve had it just two seasons and the top and bottom are totally rusted out! So it looks terrible already. I paid more for mine than what Amazon has priced it for, so I’m not happy at all about the rust. A feeder that costs this much should have a weather proof finish on it. We have mild winters here too, so I’m sure it would rust even faster in areas that have lots of snow and ice. I’m really disappointed, because in other respects it’s been one of the better feeders I’ve had.

Vendor was excelent, but this design of a feeder is hard to use — tough to fill and get the top back firmly and it tends to tip as it hangs.

Very good for the intended purpose

I bought this too keep squirrels and racoons from getting into the feeder on my deck and eating all the seed. Other feeders that I bought were either totally wiped out by squirrels or destroyed by racoons. This feeder is great for keeping them out.

Some larger birds like jays and cowbirds that I would prefer not ravaging the feeder, still manage to hang on from the side and knock seed out. They are only occasionaly successful, so I am pleased in general.

Great for starters

Bought this for my 2nd story residental room window. The suction cups work great they even hold up the squirral thats found its way into the feeder. I bought a suction cup perch like thing from wal-mart so the birds would have something to stand on sense they seem to have trouble seeing the correct place to land due to the clear plastic. It holds more than enough seeds. I guess the only issue I forsee is if it would happen to fall from the window it would most likely shatter due to the somewhat fragile plastic that it is made from, but this can be avoided with the use of a hook and string attachment.

Pretty feeder… but…

Read the other reviews – it’s sad but true… it’s a really nice looking feeder and it will work ‘great’ for at least a year… but then the springs will start to sag, then rust, then break. I rigged mine up with some springs I got from an old vcr… got it to work another year… but it is also a very difficult product to clean – you have to completely take it apart to clean it and isn’t really designed to be taken apart if you know what I mean. I still use it because I like how it looks- had to wire the thing together permanently, but its no longer squirrel resistant.

I have owned this product for two seasons now. Just like others, the squirrels here in Georgia have figured this thing out. They will either jump on the unit to cause the seed to fall out or they will chew new holes in the plastic to cause the seed to fall out. It is only a temporary defense to the squirrel. So, for the price, I will first check out others prior to geting another one…
